Today we received word that the foundation of the pink house is safe to re-build on. We’re not sure how this will effect the long run but it’s nice to know at least something of the structure that was there before will remain.

Early in the morning of June 1st, 2009 an intentionally set fire spread from a neighbor's house to the "pink house". Our 100-year-old home and all its belongings were completely destroyed.
Luckily, I was working at home late that night, heard the fire next door, and was able to get everyone awake and out of the house before it was consumed.to help…
Rebuilding our home and this historic Juneau house is going to be a major undertaking. Insurance isn't going to cover everything. There are a couple of ways you can help.

I have tears streaming down my face as I have just spent the last hour catching up on the last 6 weeks of hell you all have been going through. Saying that I am incredibly sorry you are having to go through this seems trite.
I am incredibly inspired by the attitude and strength that comes through in your blog and hope that I would be as strong of a person with as healthy of a perspective in the face of this magnitude of tragedy.
Your little girl is so beautiful and I am comforted knowing that children are so incredibly resilient. They deal with change better than we give them credit for and sooo much better than the adults.
My heart is with you and your family. I know you have great support… but I am sending extra hugs, thoughts, and prayers your way.
